Sidney Graham says:
Their Ship, the SS Greyfriars, belonging to the Newbigin Steam Shipping Company, was in a convoy bound for Blyth when it was attacked and damaged by enemy aircraft off the Humber Estuary. Norman and Thomas died as a result of this action.

This is one of the saddest war graves I have visited!
