Plaque, 295mm high x 460mm wide. A central sunken panel has a sunken double border. The lettering is in raised Roman capitals.

Notes

1. Because of the on-going re-development of South Shields, the Council have claimed ownership, they have also cleaned and restored the plaque. They are keeping it in storage until a new home can be found.

Additional Notes

1. Armstrong Joseph Sproat a Police Constable was killed on the 24th May 1943, at Regent Garage. Aged 48 years he resided at 4 Lisle Road. He is remembered on other Memorials. S86.032 and W101.08 (page 3) also in Every Name a Story.


He is also remembered on the Police Memorial Trust site.
