Unveiled 21st February 1920 by Sir Thomas Oliver. Dedicated by Rev. E.B. Hicks, M.A., Vicar of Haltwhistle.

Memorial Description

Cross of St. Cuthbert type on tall slightly tapering shaft, total height 3m, standing on a square base 104cm x 83 cm. The "IHS" symbol is carved above the word "Honoured".
The dedication is on the front of the shaft, with the lettering carved to stand proud.
The quotation is on the front of the square base.
Lettering is a mixture of Old English and elongated Roman capitals.

Materials used

Aberdeen granite cross on two-stepped base of Kenton freestone.
