Memorial Description

Cross of Latin type mounted on top of stone column. This in turn rests on a cairn of stones concreted together, total height approx. 20 feet high. This rests on three concrete steps, and is set in a stone compound, approx. 20 feet square, with stone pillars and metal pole between to fence the area. There are two marble panels inserted, each 1 foot 8 inches high x 2 feet wide x bearing the names in sans serif capitals. The words "Lest We Forget" are incised above the top panel, directly into the stone work.

Restored 2000.

Notes

1. Friends of War Memorials (now War Memorials Trust) gave a grant of £150 towards the cost of restoration in 2000. This involved replacing the marble plaque for 1939-45 which had become broken and couldn’t be repaired.
