Memorial Description

Plaque 1 foot 6 inches high x 1 foot 9 inches wide with dome at centre top. This sits on a wood pattress 3 feet 3 inches high x 2 feet 6 inches wide which echoes the shape. There are three small silver regimental badges above the plaque, with a scroll bearing the words “8th Durham L.I.” The plaque has a border with a lozenge pattern. At centre top is a cross within a shield Below this is a list of names in Gothic lower case.
At the bottom is another smaller, rectangular plaque bearing the dedication. It has a single line border, and the lettering is in Roman capitals. It has another regimental badge on each side.
