Memorial Description
Plaque, very plain, 1 foot 9 inches wide x 3 feet 3 inches high. There is a wide border which has been pecked, and has small shields carved in half relief centre top the Royal badge centre left the arms of Durham and centre right St. Cuthbert’s cross. The names are listed in two columns on the main panel, the lettering incised using Roman capitals for the dedication and quotation, sans serif capitals for the names, all in italics. The whole has been clear varnished.

1. This plaque looks it could have replaced a memorial for 1914-18, at the same time merging the parishes of Croxdale with Hett.
