Memorial Description

Stone book leaning opened at the foot of the cross. The dedication is carved along the top of the two pages. The names are carried in a single column on each page. All lettering is carved, the dedication in lower case Roman lettering, the names in upper case.

Materials used

Polished granite.

1. In 2014 when the War Memorial Cross was refurbished the names from World War 2 were re- cut and the "book" cleaned.

2. The War Memorial was rededicated Thursday July 10th 2014 by the Bishop of Jarrow, Mark Bryant.
