Unveiled at 12 noon, on the 13th December 2014, [100 years Centenary of the Christmas Truce], just before the Kick-off at the match with visitors West Ham.

Memorial Description

Steel Plaque, 15" high (375mm) x 15" wide (375mm) very plain, on a wall in the area occupied by a statue of supporters. Lettering is in sans serif lower case.

Notes

1. The Memorial also pays tribute to all those killed in the line of Duty.

2. The Memorial sits within a specially created seated area, alongside the existing Fans' Statue -a stunning bronze installation dedicated to Sunderland fans past, present and future. As well as paying tribute to those players lost in World Wars, the area will also be used by fans as a focal point to remember lost loved ones.

3. Dedicated by two military chaplains who joined the Club Chaplain Father Marc Lynden-Smith and members of the Armed Forces to dedicate the monument.
