Memorial Description:

Plaque 42 inches high x 28 inches wide ( 107cms x 71cms), very plain.

On the top bar of the moulded frame is a brass plaque which tells the source of the timber: “Old oak from roof of Durham Castle 1838”.

The words “Roll of Honour” and the dates are on the top frame.

Details of the donors are on the bottom frame.

Names are in two columns.

Lettering is hand painted in Roman capitals.
