On the Portsmouth Naval Memorial is the name of P/KX 84334 Leading Stoker Robert Liddell, serving on H.M.S. Royal Oak with the Royal Navy who died 14/10/1939.

The son of Rachel Liddell, of Battlefield, Newcastle upon Tyne.

HMS Royal Oak was a battleship of 29150 tons which was sunk by torpedo in Scapa Flow, Orkney.

Robert Liddell is remembered at Newcastle on NUT039 and in our List of Ships’ Crews.
