On Tower Hill Memorial is the name of Carpenter James McClure, serving on S.S. Empire Bowman (Glasgow) with the Merchant Navy who died 30/03/1943.

The son of William and Mersaney McClure and the husband of B. L. McClure, of Rainham, Essex.

William and Mersaney McClure were killed in a bombing raid at Jarrow on April 10th 1941.
