The son of Robert William Craig and of Elizabeth Craig, of Witton le Wear.

The Shields Daily News 03/09/1940 reports:-
DISTINGUISHED FLYING MEDAL
Sergeant John Teasdale Craig has been in action with his squadron almost continuously since May and has personally destroyed at least eight enemy aircraft. His magnificent spirit has been of a high order, and he has ably upheld the fine work of his squadron. Sergeant Craig was born in 1914 at Newcastle and joined the R.A.F. as an apprentice in 1930. His mother lives at Durham. Previously reported ” missing.” he is now reported ” safe.”

The Newcastle Journal 07/06/1941 reports:-
ROLL HONOUR CRAIG. —Flight Sergeant John T. Craig. D.F.M., Witton le Wear. son of Elizabeth and the late R. W. Craig (late of Stanhope). Burial Witton-!e-Wear. Particulars later.

John Teasdale Craig is remembered at Witton le Wear on W124.02 possibly at Wolsingham on W128.03 and W128.09 and in a RAF Book of Remembrance page 20.
