Unveiled 25th April 1920 by Major Spicer, V.D., J.P., of Whitley Bay.
Memorial Description
Stained glass window of three lancet lights. The subjects illustrated are (centre) the ‘Good Shepherd’ with a lamb in His arms, whilst at His feet is a lamb lying prostrate. On the right is a fine figure of St. George and on the left the ‘Angel Guardian’. The dedication is carried across the bottom of the window.
Inscription
To the glory of God and in honoured memory of the sons of this congregation who fell in the Great War 1914-1919.
Recommended to the grace of God for the work which they fulfilled (Acts 14 : 26)

Notes
1. The window was inserted in 1920. The plaque, W84.21, was not placed until 1921.
2. The United Reformed Church became St.Margaret's Church.
3. St, Margaret's Methodist Free Church was demolished following a state of disrepair in 1989. It has been replaced by flats
called Margaret House.
4. The windows were taken to St. Edward's Roman Catholic church and placed directly above three windows already in the RC Church.
