Memorial Description

Stained glass window of three lights representing the Resurrection.

There is a brass plaque framed in very dark oak. At almost centre top, under the name of the parish, is a circle containing a cross. The dedication is carved to stand proud, as is the prayer at the bottom, in Gothic lettering.

Affixed to the lower two-thirds of the plaque are two brass plaques, very plain, stood on end side by side, each bearing the names in a single column under the respective ranks. The lettering is in sans serif lower case.

Waterhouses Parish Church. / To the glory of God / the stained glass east / window of this church and / the tablet are erected as also in memory of / the men of the parish who gave their / lives in the Great War 1914-1919.
In pace requiescant.

1. The plaque is very similar in appearance to one in Ushaw Moor. See U8.03

2. Sapper Thomas Allison was with 458th Field Company, Royal Engineers.
