Book of Remembrance 9 inches high x 6 .25 inches wide (228mm x 158mm), bound. Lettering is calligraphed in red, black and gold.
There is a case 1 foot 2 inches high x 1 foot 6 inches wide x 4 inches deep (756mm x 457mm x 102mm) with a sloping glass lid. It rests on a single leg. It bears a small plaque

On case St .Oswald's Church / This case contains a lasting record of the / Sailors and Soldiers belonging to St.Oswald's / District,who, for Country, for Home and for us / gave their lives in the Great War 1914 - 1919. /
Responsible people desiring a closer inspection / of the book, may obtain a key from the vicar / or either of the wardens
