Memorial Description

Plaque 2 feet high x 3 feet wide (608mm x 912mm) with slight dome at centre top. “Bronzed copper repousse work mounted on oak and surmounted by the city arms in enamel”. There is a wide border of raised pattern. Names are listed in four columns in raised Roman capitals.

This must have been outside since the brass shows signs of weathering.

Notes

1. West Jesmond School: 100 years of memories contains a photograph of the plaque. On P.181 there is a copy of an article from an unnamed and undated newspaper article from the Newcastle Chronicle and Journal Group which refers to the forthcoming unveiling of the Memorial Tablet and Roll of Honour (J1.21). The article lists 55 names, that of Charles Wall not being on the memorial.
