Returned to Nutley family when the church closed.

Memorial Description
Processional cross mounted on a wood staff. The initials “A.M.D.G.” are on the top upright. The dedication is carried on the crosspiece in three lines, the lettering sunk in casting and blackened, using serif lower case lettering. The words “R.I.P.” are on the upright below the dedication.

3. St. Mary the Virgin Church at Howden-le-Wear was built to serve the Fir Tree Parish and was consecrated October 1869. It's official name was Fir Tree St. Mary and the church closed 27th January 2008. The building has been sold for conversion to residential housing.
