Memorial Description
Plaque, approx. 2 feet high x 3 feet wide, comprising cast bronze half relief of a dead soldier lying on a bier. At his head is the Angel of Peace, at his feet a kneeling woman representing Humanity is looking behind her to a naked child representing the rising generation, but pointing to the new dawn of a better world through sacrifice. The bronze is placed on a marble pattress, with a shelf above and a curved lower edge. The inscription is incised into the pattress, using Roman capitals, and painted gold.
