Notes

1. This former school was to be demolished in the 1980s to make way for several new homes. However, it was purchased from the developers at the last moment and made into flats. The first new residents found the memorial on a pile awaiting a bonfire. They rescued it and erected it in the entrance.

2. These plaques were apparently part of panelling that had been in the school but which had already been removed.

3. There is a stained glass window dedicated to the school, but is not a war memorial. The guide book reads:
“Moving around towards the north aisle you pass St Christopher's window ... The small window shows the patron saint of travellers helping a young boy (Jesus) on his way. It was dedicated to the nearby Corchester School (closed 1975). It is called "the kingfisher window" because the small bird engraved in the window is in memory of the school's last Headmaster, Mr. Fisher.
Inscription: The boys and Staff of Corchester School worshipped here 18?? - 1975.
