Memorial Description

Plaque 4 feet high x 2 feet 6 inches wide (115cm x 82.5cm) set in a wood frame. The central panel is painted to look like marble. There is a border of oak leaves and acorns in green and brown. At the top centre is a cross in gold with a green laurel wreath with red bow on either side. The dedication is at the top.
Written from bottom to top in red on the left hand side is the quotation "Greater love hath no man .." etc., while painted from top to bottom in red down the right hand side are the words "Grant them eternal rest, O Lord,.." etc. The quotation at the bottom is also in red. The names are handwritten in a single column using black lower case lettering.

To the glory of God / In loving commemoration of the men of this Parish / of Beltingham with Henshaw, who gave their lives / for their Country in the Great War 1914-1919
Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends
Grant them Eternal Rest, O Lord, and let Thy perpetual Light shine upon them.
We know that we have passed from Death unto Life.
