Notes

1. The cricket pavilion has been rebuilt. The original was a church school:
"Across the cricket field adjoining the church stands the old church schools, now used as an institute controlled by the Burnmoor Cricket Club; this building was erected in 1877 at the sole cost of the second Earl of Durham and ceased as a school on the 30th September 1929." (Thomas Westgarth)

2. James Pasby- When originally trying to locate this memorial, circa 1984, I met a member then aged 90 plus who knew two people on the Memorial and the original location of the Memorial. The Banner brass heading was in the Bar, which was always part of the original Memorial. It was found in a garage in 2014 where it had been kept for safe keeping.

3. The Memorial was mounted on a new oak pattress and re-dedicated on the 20th December 2014 by Rev Tilly Wilkinson vicar of St. Barnabas church. The service was at 11 am.
