This Book is intended to be a permanent Memorial of the Officials and
Workmen of Pease & Partners Limited, who have laid down their
lives in the cause of King and Country, and also a Record of all who
served in His Majesty's Forces during the Great European War, 1914-1918.
The following table shows that of the 13,154 Officials and Workmen
employed by Pease & Partners, Limited, on the outbreak of war in August,
1914, 4,174, or 31.74% joined H.M. Forces, of whom 543 have died on
active service, also there have been awarded 1 V.C., 1 M.C. and Bar,
2 M.C.’s, 1 D.C.M. and Bar, 20 D.C.M.’s, 5 M.M.’s and Bar,84 M.M.’s,
10 M.S.M.’s, 3 Croix de Guerre, 1 Belgian Croix de Guerre, 1 Serbian Medal,
1 Medaille d’Honneur, 4 Mons Stars.
