Memorial Description
Obelisk approx. 8 feet tall. Of rough-hewn granite standing on two steps of polished marble. At front centre top is a badge. Panels of black marble which bear the names in a single column are on three sides. Those from 1914-18 are on the front, those from 1939-45 are on the right, and on the left is a name from later wars. Lettering is incised and gilded using Roman capitals.
The words “Lest We Forget” are on the front face of the top step.

Notes
1. There are memorials in the church, but it was felt that an outdoor memorial was needed.
2. A new flower bed was also created which bears the combined services’ insignia. Approx. £900 worth of flowers were planted in time for the unveiling.
