Notes

1. This was sometimes known as “The Wester Meeting House” and was erected to supplement Cheviot Street Church.

2. West Church was a building adjoining the old library behind the Butcher's shop in the High Street. In 1951 West Church began to share the Cheviot Street meeting house and sold its building to the Freemasons to become a Masonic Lodge. The building was sold again and is currently used as an antique furniture warehouse /storage, so the building still stands.

3. The Cheviot Street building became the United Reformed Church, and this is where the chair is located.

4. A photograph of Edward Allan appears in the Alnwick Gazette Almanack 1916.
