Unveiled November 1920 by Mr T. Finlay of Fir Tree.

Memorial Description

Two matching Rolls of Honour each bearing half the names. At centre top is a badge with the name of the church below. Beneath this is a swag on which is an open book. On either side is a laurel wreath surrounding a lamp with a flame. At bottom left on one roll is a picture of St. George bearing a sword aloft. On the other is an angel holding aloft a laurel wreath. The names are listed in three columns on each, the whole is printed using elaborate lettering for the titles and dedication and lower case lettering for the names.

Designed and executed by George D. Charlton, Barnhill, Dundee, late of Crook.

Notes

1. It looks as though the names of H.E.H. Gowland, C.H. Macdonald, J.E. Young and G.W. Young have been added at a later date.

2. The church was built in 1868 as a Primitive Methodist Church.

3. A limited number of souvenir booklets, containing photographs of the church, marble tablet, and illuminated scrolls was available at a charge of sixpence each.
