In Spoilbank Cemetery, West-Vlaanderen, Belgium, is the Commonwealth War Grave of 32935 Private George Edward Stevenson, serving with the 10th Battalion York and Lancaster Regiment, who died 23/12/1917.

In Holy Trinity Churchyard is a family headstone which reads:

Deeply mourned

Morpeth Herald 08/02/1918 carries a brief obituary:

ROLL OF HONOUR

STEVENSON.- Killed in action on the 23rd December, 1917, George Edward, the only son of Margaret Stevenson and of the late Edward Stevenson, of Widdrington Colliery.- Deeply mourned.

From George's pension cards his mother Margaret moved to Bebside Furnace Gardens and then later to Abyssinia House, Ashington.

George Edward Stevenson is remembered at Bebside onB14.02 and at Blyth on B42.24
