G.W. Brydon,
Royal Air Force,
29th June 1918
Robert Dixon has submitted the following:
George William Brydon was born in Radcliffe, then the family moved to Hartford Colliery before moving to 320 Welbeck Terrace, Pegswood. They had left Pegswood by 1926 at the latest. I was informed that they moved to the south shortly after 1926. Pte Brydon was a recruit at RAF Blandford. He died in Blandford Military Hospital 29 June 1918.
Colin McMillan has provided the following:
George was born on 30th June 1898 and his service date is 18th June 1918. He didn’t serve long as he died 11 days later on 29th June 1918, just one day before his 20th birthday.
There is a George Brydon on the war memorial cross at Bothal, B48.01 although this man is named as being "George Brydon, A.B., R.N.D." Is this the same man, wrongly listed as being in the Royal Navy and not the Royal Air Force?
