In Rue-David Military Cemetery, Fleurbaix, Pas de Calais, France, is the Commonwealth War Grave of 5489 Private George Alder Eamens, serving with the 53rd Battalion Australian Infantry, A.I.F., who died 11/08/1916.

He was the son of William and Jane Eamens, of 6, High Street, Kogarah, Sydney, New South Wales. He was a native of Meldon.

Morpeth Herald 27/10/1916 carries a brief obituary:

ROLL OF HONOUR
EAMENS.- Killed in action, August 4th, 1916, with the Australian Forces, George A. Eamens, third son of the late William Eamens, of Meldon, and Mrs Eamens, late of Heaton and Sydney, N.S.W.

He is not remembered on any memorial in Northumberland or Durham
