Heppell (Hepple), J., Pte., 1917
In Poelcapelle British Cemetery is the Commonwealth War Grave of 290325 Private John Heppell, serving with the Northumberland Fusiliers who died 26/10/1917.

John Hardy says that he was the son of Mrs. Annie Tait (formerly Heppell) and the late William Heppell of 19 Linhope Terrace, Chevington Drift.

Soldiers Died in the Great War gives his name as Hepple, and says that he was born in Blyth and enlisted in Chevington.

He is remembered as John Hepple in Chevington on C27.01 and C27.02 and in the Battalion History
