In Bedford House Cemetery is the Commonwealth War Grave of 25638 Private Henderson Morris, serving with the Royal Scots Fusiliers who died 31/07/1917.

In Seghill (Holy Trinity) Churchyard) is a family headstone in the form of an open book, which reads:

Henderson lived at 21 Melton Terrace, New Hartley. He was born in Blyth and enlisted at New Hartley. He served with the 6th/7th Battalion and was formerly (4851, Private) Army Cyclist Corps.
