On the Thiepval Memorial is the name of 183 Trooper William Anderson Morton, serving with the Household Battalion who died 10/12/1916.

In Earsdon (St. Alban) Churchyard is a family headstone which reads:

Sacred
to the memory of
Stephen Edward Morton
who passed into the
"Higher Life"August 29th 1904
aged 22 years.
"He has outsoared the shadow of our night;
Envy and calumny, hate and pain,
And that unrest which men miscall delight,
Can touch him not and torture not again."

King's 1st Life Guards
brother of the above
killed in action in France Decr. 10th 1916
aged 25 years.
William Anderson Morton
father of the above
died Dec. 23rd 1924, aged 67 years.
Also Mary, wife of
William A. Morton
died Feb. 1st 1945, aged 85 years.
