Willis, J.J., Pte., 1916
In Regina Trench Cemetery, Grandcourt, Somme, France, is the Commonwealth War Grave of Private John J. Willis, serving with the 8th Battalion Northumberland Fusiliers, who died 26/09/1916.

Morpeth Herald 27/10/1916 carries a brief obituary:

Mrs Willis, of Jackson Street, Annitsford, has received official news that her husband, Pte. John J. Willis, N.F., has been killed in action. He leaves a widow and three children.

He is not remembered on any war memorial in Annitsford.
