Moffatt, R., Cpl., M.M.,1916
In Flatiron Copse Cemetery, Mametz, Somme, France, is the Commonwealth War Grave of 14384 Corporal Robert Moffatt, serving with the 10th Battalion Northumberland Fusiliers, who died 22/09/1916.

Morpeth Herald 20/10/1916 carries a brief obituary:

Mrs Moffat [sic], of Lee Street, Annitsford, has received official intimation that her husband Corporal R. Moffat [sic], who had recently been awarded the Military Medal, was killed in action on Sept 22nd. Corporal Moffat was formerly employed as a porter at Seghill Station. He leaves a wife [sic] and three children.

He is not remembered on a local war memorial.
