Corporal Dodds was killed at R.A.F. Pocklington, the result of being struck by an aircraft propeller as he attempted to cross a runway.

The Morpeth Herald and Reporter 11/01/1946, page 3, carried the following:
“In Memoriam
DODDS - Treasured memories of my dear brother, Cpl. Edward Dodds, R.A.F., V.R., killed in an aircraft accident, January 10th 1943. None in this world could replace, the brother we loved but could not save; His cheerful smile, his heart of gold, the dearest one this world could hold. - (Mum, and sister Harriet).”
He is remembered at Bedlington Station on B163.04 and in an RAF Book of Remembrance
