Brown, W., Pte., 1918
In Hermies Hill British Cemetery is the Commonwealth War Grave of 15770 Private W. Brown, serving with the Yorkshire Regiment who died 18/01/1918.

Carole Fife has provided the following:

William's military record shows that he was born and enlisted in Bedlington. He was born in 1882 but I have been unable to find his parents on the census returns. In the 1911 census William is shown as married to Isabella and living at Walker Terrace in Bedlington. He was working as a hewer at the pit, and they had a son Joseph William born in 1908. The family later moved to Vulcan Place in Bedlington.

He is remembered in Bedlington on B15.02 and B15.06
