In Bedlington (Netherton Road) Cemetery is the Commonwealth War Grave with a private headstone of 982007 Leading Aircraftman Robert Wardlaw, serving with the Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve, who died 19/01/1945.

The headstone reads:
Treasured memories of
our dearly beloved son
Robert Wardlaw
died 19th Jan. 1945 aged 27 years..
Robert Wardlaw
dear father of the above
died 19 Oct. 1954 aged 71 years
Also our darling daughter Ethel
died 15 Sept. 1960 aged 53 years
Also Margaret Ann dear wife of Robert
died ?2nd Oct. 1965 aged 84 years.

He is remembered in Bedlington on B15.08
