Simon Glancey has submitted the following:
Leading Aircraftwoman Nicholson was killed when a Hawker Typhoon, MN236, of 55 O.T.U. (Operational Training Unit), crashed while attempting a forced landing at R.A.F. Aston Down on March 25th 1945. The Typhoon crashed into a crew room of a dispersal hut, killing the pilot and two members of the ground crew. LACW Nicholson was one of 18 personnel admitted to the R.A.F. Hospital at Cosford, suffering from severe burns, but she succumbed to her injuries on April 7th 1945.

She is remembered in Bedlington on B15.02, B15.08 and B15.10
