In Ration Farm Military Cemetery, La Chapelle-d’Armentieres, Nord, France, is the Commonwealth War Grave of 23/594 Private R. Miller, serving with the 23rd (Tyneside Irish) Battalion Northumberland Fusiliers, who died 23/10/1916.

Morpeth Herald 24/11/1916 carries a brief obituary:

MILLER.- Died of wounds in France, Oct. 23rd, 1916. Private Robert Miller (594, N.F.), aged 41 years.- Deeply mourned by his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Susannah and William Start.

Derek Johnstone has provided the following:

Robert Miller was born about 1876 at Bedlington and a hewer in the coal mines before he enlisted. When he enlisted he was living at 20 Pit Row, Bedlington. He was married to Margaret Jane Miller who was born in Newsham Blyth. Robert died from his wounds and military records show in 1919 his widow was awarded his effects when she was living at 6 Millbank Crescent, Bedlington.

He is remembered in Bedlington on B15.02, B15.06, B15.20 and in B15.26
