Carole Fife has provided the following:
John, the elder child of Christopher and Isabella Scott was born in 1892 in Bedlington. The family lived at 6, Jubilee Terrace, Bedlington Station, and his father was a grocer and provisions dealer. When he left school John went to work in the shop with his father. At the time of his enlistment John was living in Telephone Row, and he is named on the Bedlington Coal Company's Roll of Honour which indicates that he changed jobs and became a miner. John was killed during the Battle of Arras, but his body was never found.
He is remembered in Bedlington on B15.02, B15.06 , B15.11, B15.16, B15.20 and in B15.26 page 58
