BEDLINGTON

Gibson, G., Cpl., 1918
In Tezze British Cemetery, Italy, is the Commonwealth War Grave of 11883 Corporal George Gibson serving with 11th Battalion Northumberland Fusiliers who died 29/10/1918.

Carole Fife has provided the following:

George was baptised in Morpeth on 15th December 1894, and he was the eldest child of George and Esther. At the time of the 1911 census, when the family were living at 33, Red Row, Bedlington Station, George had become a miner like his father. George named his mother as his legatee, which would indicate that he was not married. The Enlistment book shows the family living at 26, Hirst Terrace.

He is remembered in Bedlington on B15.01, B15.02 and B15.06 and in B15.01 page 67
