Evans, J., Pte., 1916
On the Thiepval Memorial is the name of 3808 Private John Evans, serving with the Northumberland Fusiliers who died 15/09/1916.

Margaret Allison reports that in 1911 his address was 87 Chestnut Street, Ashington, and that he was 19 years old when he died.

He is remembered in Ashington on A17.43 and in the Battalion History
