Charles Roderick was the son of Alice Mackenzie and the late Charles Rose Mackenzie. He served with the Railway Operating Division and was formerly (127390 Gunner) Royal Garrison Artillery. He was sent home for demobilization, but on his arrival at Ripon he sadly contracted the flu pandemic which arose at the war’s end and later died from the complications of pneumonia at home. He was buried at St. Paul’s Anglican Church, North Sunderland.
