On the Arras Memorial, France is the name of 5614 Lance Corporal Robert Green serving with the 20th (Tyneside Scottish) Battalion, Northumberland Fusiliers who died 27/04/1917.

In Shilbottle St.James's Churchyard is a family headstone which reads:

In
Loving memory
of
William Ternent
the dearly beloved husband of
Mary Green,
who died at Bilton Banks, Dec. 19, 1919
aged 64 years.
Also of Robert, their third son
Lc.Corpl. 10th N.F. who was killed
in action in France, April 27, 1917
aged 27 years.
And of the above Mary Green
who died at Bilton Banks
Dec. 26 1921 aged 66 years.Also of John, their second son,
who died at Bilton Banks
Nov. 7 1925, aged 48 years.

Alnwick and County Gazette 09/02/1918 reports:

Lance-Corporal R. Green, third son of Mr. and Mrs. W. Green, Shilbottle Colliery, previously reported missing since April 27th 1917, is now presumed killed. He enlisted into the N.F., and was wounded in the first big push on the Somme. He was a barman at Ashington before the war.
