In Louez Military Cemetery, Duisans, is the Commonwealth War Grave of 10018 Private Peter Giles, serving with the 14th Battalion Northumberland Fusiliers who died 24/08/1916.

This photo shows the plaque attached to the post to Pte. Giles' memory in the National Memorial Arboretum, in the area set aside to remember the men shot at dawn

Private Peter Giles was shot for desertion in 1916.

The Journal 20/03/1999 reports the efforts of his two great nieces to have his name added to the memorial; 03/07/1999 reports the addition of the name on the memorial in time for the re-dedication of the relocated memorial.
