In St. Michael's Churchyard is the Commonwealth War Grave with a private headstone of 1330 Private Thomas Hepple, serving with the Northumberland Fusiliers who died 18/08/1915.

The family headstone reads:

Pte.
Thomas Hepple
4th N.F.
Beloved son of
David & Elizabeth Hepple
Accidentally killed
At Cambois Camp
On Aug. 18th 1915 aged 18 years.

At rest.
