Chambers, S., A/Smn., 1915
In Portland Royal Naval Cemetery is the Commonwealth War Grave of KX/433 Able Seaman Stanley Chambers, serving with the Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve who died 08/03/1915.

Colin Boyd has submitted the following:

Stanley was born on 2nd August 1895. He was working as a miner living with his mother, Sarah Ann, at 35. Holly Avenue, Wallsend when he enlisted in the Northumberland Fusiliers on 4th September 1914.

He transferred to the RNVR on 9th September 1914 and served in the Hood Battalion until he was hospitalised on 22nd February 1915. Stanley died in the RN Hospital at Portland from the effects of Endo-Carditis on 8th March 1915.
