Charles Allan was born at Hebburn, Durham, the son of James Allan of 195 South Glen Craig, Loch Gelly, Fife, and his wife Bridget, daughter of F. Connor, of Co Derry.
Charles was educated at Loch Gelly School, and enlisted on the outbreak of war.
He died of his wounds at No 7 Stationary Hospital, Boulogne, on the 9th January 1915.
