Thomas Mackin, born in 1892 at Felling was the son of Michael and Mary Ann Mackin.
He enlisted at Sunderland into 'A' Company, 26th Battalion (3rd Tyneside Irish) of the Northumberland Fusiliers.
He was killed in action on 1st July 1916 and is commemorated on the Thiepval Memorial.
Thomas was married to Mary Emma (afterwards Ryan) of 19 Blake Street Easington Colliery.
His brother Peter also died in the Great War.
