He was born at Stockton-on-Tees in 1897 and resided at Thornaby. He enlisted at Stockton-on-Tees and was killed in action on the 10th October 1917 aged 21. He is Remembered on the Tyne Cot Memorial, Zonnebeke, West-Vlaanderen, Belgium, Panels 52 to 54 and 162A.
NB Some records give his Regimental Number as 38304.
He is remembered in Stockton on S138.15
