The son of William and Edith Evelyn Shepherd of Stockton-on-Tees. A Navigator he died on the 1st September 1943 aged 20. He is buried in Durham Road Cemetery, Stockton-on-Tees, Grave Reference M.1 C.of E.E.9. His name appears in the 1939-1945 Book of Remembrance in Stockton Parish Church.
No 5 Group comprised of several RAF Squadrons based throughout Lincolnshire and took part in many successful missions over Germany.
Thomas George William Shepherd is remembered in Stockton on S138.19 page 22 and in Monkwearmouth in an RAF Roll of Honour page 101
